Knee pain is a common problem that can originate in any of the bony structures compromising the knee joint (femur, tibia, fibula), the kneecap (patella), or the ligaments and cartilage (meniscus) of the knee. Knee pain can affect people of all ages.
The location of the knee pain can vary depending on which structure is involved. With infection, the whole knee might be swollen and painful, while a torn meniscus or fracture of a bone gives symptoms only in one specific location.
The severity of the pain can vary, from a minor ache to a severe and disabling pain.
Some of the other findings that accompany knee pain are
difficulty walking due to instability of the knee,
limping due to discomfort,
locking of the knee (unable to bend the knee),
redness and swelling,
Neck pain can occur anywhere in your neck, from the bottom of your head to the top of your shoulders. It can spread to your upper back or arms. It may limit how much you can move your head and neck.
Our neck is flexible and supports the weight of your head, so it can be vulnerable to injuries and conditions that cause pain and restrict motion. Neck pain causes include:
Muscle strains. Overuse, such as too many hours hunched over your computer or smartphone, often triggers muscle strains. Even minor things, such as reading in bed or gritting your teeth, can strain neck muscles.
Worn joints. Just like the other joints in your body, your neck joints tend to wear down with age. Osteoarthritis causes the cushions (cartilage) between your bones (vertebrae) to deteriorate. Your body then forms bone spurs that affect joint motion and cause pain.
Nerve compression. Herniated disks or bone spurs in the vertebrae of your neck can press on the nerves branching out from the spinal cord.
Injuries. Rear-end auto collisions often result in whiplash injury, which occurs when the head is jerked backward and then forward, straining the soft tissues of the neck.
Diseases. Certain diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, meningitis or cancer, can cause neck pain.
A newborn baby needs chiropractic care just like they need sleep, nutrition and love.
Chiropractic care for a newborn baby is best understood when we look at why they are receiving the chiropractic adjustment.
The purpose of the adjustment for a newborn baby is to facilitate the correction of vertebral subluxation that develops in the spine due to stress. The stress a newborn baby has starts from the development inside mother and carries through the delivery process that every newborn encounters. Too much stress can create tiny palpable vertebral subluxation in their spines detected by chiropractors.
Chiropractic care for your newborn baby aids in their development by allowing the inborn wisdom to be greater expressed by removing vertebral subluxation.
