Back pain includes lower back pain, middle back pain, upper back pain or low back pain with sciatica. Nerve and muscular problems, degenerative disc disease, and arthritis can result in back pain.

What Are the Symptoms of Back Pain?

Most people have experienced back pain sometime in their lives. The causes of back pain are numerous; some are self-inflicted due to a lifetime of bad habits. Other back pain causes include accidents, muscle strains, and sports injuries. Although the causes may be different, most often they share the same symptoms.

Headaches can range in type and severity from tension headaches to sinus headaches to full-blown migraine headaches. Some headaches can become so painful they become debilitating.

What causes headaches?

Headaches and migraines are caused by an alteration or disruption of brain chemistry. By avoiding headache or migraine triggers, you can help prevent their onset.

What are symptoms of headaches?

Common symptoms of headaches are pain and pressure felt from the inside of your head. Migraine symptoms include throbbing pain typically occurring on one side near the temples, forehead and eyes. Additional symptoms include nausea, vomiting and light sensitivity.

How are headaches treated?

Active Release Technique (ART), chiropractic adjustments and physical rehabilitation stretches and exercises will usually alleviate and resolve all headache symptoms. Some headaches can also be treated with various types of pain relievers and ice packs to the back of the head.

-Depression is three times more common in people with migraine or severe headaches than in healthy individuals.

-Nearly 1 in 4 U.S. households includes someone with migraine.

-About 18% of American women and 6% of men suffer from migraine.

Knee pain is a common problem that can originate in any of the bony structures compromising the knee joint (femur, tibia, fibula), the kneecap (patella), or the ligaments and cartilage (meniscus) of the knee. Knee pain can affect people of all ages.

The location of the knee pain can vary depending on which structure is involved. With infection, the whole knee might be swollen and painful, while a torn meniscus or fracture of a bone gives symptoms only in one specific location.

The severity of the pain can vary, from a minor ache to a severe and disabling pain.

Some of the other findings that accompany knee pain are

  • difficulty walking due to instability of the knee,

  • limping due to discomfort,

  • locking of the knee (unable to bend the knee),

  • redness and swelling,

Neck pain can occur anywhere in your neck, from the bottom of your head to the top of your shoulders. It can spread to your upper back or arms. It may limit how much you can move your head and neck.

Our neck is flexible and supports the weight of your head, so it can be vulnerable to injuries and conditions that cause pain and restrict motion. Neck pain causes include:

  • Muscle strains. Overuse, such as too many hours hunched over your computer or smartphone, often triggers muscle strains. Even minor things, such as reading in bed or gritting your teeth, can strain neck muscles.

  • Worn joints. Just like the other joints in your body, your neck joints tend to wear down with age. Osteoarthritis causes the cushions (cartilage) between your bones (vertebrae) to deteriorate. Your body then forms bone spurs that affect joint motion and cause pain.

  • Nerve compression. Herniated disks or bone spurs in the vertebrae of your neck can press on the nerves branching out from the spinal cord.

  • Injuries. Rear-end auto collisions often result in whiplash injury, which occurs when the head is jerked backward and then forward, straining the soft tissues of the neck.

  • Diseases. Certain diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, meningitis or cancer, can cause neck pain.

A newborn baby needs chiropractic care just like they need sleep, nutrition and love.

Chiropractic care for a newborn baby is best understood when we look at why they are receiving the chiropractic adjustment.

The purpose of the adjustment for a newborn baby is to facilitate the correction of vertebral subluxation that develops in the spine due to stress. The stress a newborn baby has starts from the development inside mother and carries through the delivery process that every newborn encounters. Too much stress can create tiny palpable vertebral subluxation in their spines detected by chiropractors.

Chiropractic care for your newborn baby aids in their development by allowing the inborn wisdom to be greater expressed by removing vertebral subluxation.
